advantage of these housing opportunities. Make sure that all your club
members are aware of Annapolis Accommodations and what they have to offer
USNA parents. I will send out more information on their services, which
include much more than Commissioning Week housing. Parents have indicated
to me their satisfaction with Annapolis Accommodations and I think it is

for Commissioning Week 2001
Annapolis Accommodations has dozens of owners on their registry who are
willing to lower their price or take fewer than 7 nights for Commissioning
Week 2001. In addition, there have been dozens of new additions to the
registry since Christmas, many of them sleeping 10 or more, some waterfront,
some pools, and some real bargains.
Even if you have only 4-6 people for Commissioning Week, a private home may
represent a real saving over hotel rooms and restaurant meals. As of 3-8-01
there were 14 Historic District homes that sleep from 2-7 people - and even
a waterview house in the Historic District sleeping 9-11 with lots of
parking!
There are 35 waterfront apartments, condos, and homes available, sleeping
from 2 to 18, and ranging in price from $1120 - $4300 for the week, plus a
wonderful home about an hour away that sleeps up to 20, has a pool and a
lighted tennis court in addition to waterfront, and goes for $6000/wk. There
are also, of course, a wide variety of just plain nice homes, at a wide
variety of rates.
Currently the least expensive hotel room available for Commissioning Week is
nearly $170, including tax - that's almost $340/night for 2 rooms. Annapolis
Accommodations has 2-3 bedroom homes available for under $300/night, and
larger homes at somewhat higher prices that offer much more space, privacy,
and flexibility than a hotel. 
There are still a few weeks before the cancellation deadline for the local
hotels. Call Annapolis Accommodations at your early convenience to see if
the perfect home for you is poised and waiting on their registry. Call

If your Midshipman is graduating in 2002, call that same number and ask for
Peggy Christman; she'll put you on the list for 2002 housing. Booking for
2002 is expected to begin in late April.
