An upperclass USNA Parent shares the following info for incoming USNA parents & Mids for future USNA Plebe Classes:  She has discovered through

talking to other parents, Blue and Gold Officers and our Blue and Gold Coordinators some very good, money saving advice. Though the Midshipmen do

not have so-called tuition, they do have a computer/calculator/uniform fee due as they start Plebe year.  If these soon-to-be Plebes have scholarship money offered

to them, they can apply it toward their $2,200 (last year's fee). This will not apply to monies for in-state use only such as FL's Bright Futures program but many

other scholarships are available. Sometimes it will take a careful explanation to the benefactor as they may think there are no fees for the incoming Plebes. I know this

could have been a real help to some families who thought they would not be eligible for scholarships.  I think now is the time to start telling the new 2007 (and

beyond) families as the scholarship awards are starting to surface.
